Yeah, but whatever he remembers (unconsciously) about his past incarnations after this actually ought to boost his confidence in his own worth and goodness, since Gabrielle has been a hero in just about every lifetime.

Angel might've been appalled to realize he was once Ares, but Spike's got nothing to be ashamed of in his pre-William lifetimes, and I hope he's well on his way to coming to terms with some of the things he did as a soulless vampire.
