Still waiting for Thursday and my appointment with the endocrinologist to answer some of my health questions. But in the meantime, I'm just happy that the mega-doses of calcium seem to have gotten rid of the cramping in my hands entirely and the tingling and numbness are ALMOST completely gone. Plus, Mom and Dad came to visit this weekend and 'hold my hand' (metaphorically and literally, if necessary) until my doctor's appointment. My Mom has so far done countless loads of my laundry, cleaned up and vastly improved the organization of my kitchen, vacuumed my apartment, and done a host of little things to make my life easier. And Dad has gone out of his way to be affirming (for a change), telling me how impressed his clergy group was with the copies of my "Passion" review that he had passed around, and how much he'd like a copy of the program book from the UEA "Blood, Text, and Fears" conference where I presented my first 'Buffy' paper (a year and a half ago, but he was always a little slow to react to things). So, life is not so bad right now.

Friends have also been most encouraging: Miss Murchison sent me more fanfic to enjoy, Messcalina sent me a link to a medical article on hypocalcemia -- http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic271.htm, and Keswindhover and everyone else have done their best to entertain me and keep my spirits high. Thanks -- you gals rock!

On a lighter note, if you haven't already seen SciFi Weekly's "site of the week", check out "So You've Decided to be Evil..." at http://evil-guide.tripod.com/ and take the quiz in chapter 1. Or, just surf around and go straight to the fun stuff, like figuring out where to locate your evil lair, hiring henchmen, etc.. Enjoy!
