There are times when I'm inclined to grouse a great deal about my low-paying and occsionally tedious job (particularly when -- as today -- the high price of gas to get to work is combined with the lack of available gas to buy at any price at most gas stations in Nashville!).
But then something happens to remind me why working here isn't so bad, because at least here I'm surrounded by many of 'My Own [Fhannish] Kind', including the executive from downstairs who just came through in full (and very elaborate) pirate costume and persona to remind all of us that it is, in fact, International Talk Like a Pirate Day -- ALL DAY LONG!
It's evidently NOT this fellow's first time in pirate persona, and the man has (in true fhannish fashion) put a great deal of thought and effort into his garb.
Oops, he just tried to surprise the editor on the other end of the floor who tends to whistle the Star Blazers theme song at odd moments. I could have told him that THAT effort was doomed to failure.
No mere pirate can freak out anyone on THIS unit. And a mere Ninja would probably be eaten alive.
So, to the high cost of gasoline (if you can find any to buy), and the likelihood that many of my co-workers will have to start tele-commuting next week, rather than be stranded at the office with no way to get home again after their gas tanks run dry, I can only say a resounding, "Arrrrr!"
I don't know quite what I mean by that, but it DOES make me feel better, somehow, so I say again to the PTB of all sorts in this world, "Arrrrr!"
