To a spoiler virgin, like me, pretty much your whole post is full of spoilers, not just the torture thing behind the cut. The kid, the kid being a mini-Gibbs, the theme of House ... to me all spoilers.

Could I please ask you to hide these sorts of revelations behind a cut? Totally up to you, of course.
