Happy thought #1: I found out my inabililty to access my university email on Monday night wasn't personal, but a temporary outage that happened to affect certain portions of the alphabet (including the portion that starts my surname). Still, I now have a yahoo email and 1 gmail (so far) address to play around with, in addition to my longtime university webmail.
Happy thought #2: Being still more than somewhat perturbed by certain events in last week's NCIS allowed me to watch Gilmore Girls last night with an unshadowed heart (rather than worrying about what I was missing on NCIS while my tape machine was fully occupied with Bones and House). Rory seems finally to have had that wake-up call, thanks to Jess, her personal "wounded healer". Plus, I just adore Luke when he's in full-on nurture mode, first with outfitting his "little girls" on the soccer team, and then with Lorelai and her full-blown displacement of all her buried feelings of maternal inadequacy onto her relationship with her sick (and not just neurotic) dog.
Happy thought #3: I still have last week's Smallville, Monday's Prison Break, and last night's Bones and House to look forward to, as soon as I can find the time to view the tapes.
Happy thought #4: I love, love, love teaching my little mini-seminar class, with only five bright and committed young students and the whole of the New Testament (and all of history and humanity) as our playground.
Happy thought #5: When I get back to working on the dissertation tomorrow, I'm going to skip ahead and start writing one of the FUN chapters, rather than stripping my gears trying to write an introductory chapter for a book whose final shape I may not know for months yet.
