Re: Earthsea

I watched the first two hours of "Earthsea" the other night. It was pretty dumb. I thought it combined the vibe of a second-rate "ST: Next Generation" episode with the look and acting quality of one of those '60s movies based on the Greek myths. But I've enjoyed my share of second-rate Star Trek episodes, and I'm quite fond of cheesy fantasy movies, so I'll probably watch the end just to see how they tie things up. Then I'll go reread the books, which I've almost totally forgotten, and that will make the whole experience worthwhile.
