I just happened to see this article on Yahoo about 10 Shows That Deserve to Return Next Fall (But Might Not), and of course at least half of them are shows I watch and enjoy!
Okay, maybe I'm not deeply in love with "Kings" (never feel the slightest need to re-watch an episode), but I get such a kick out of seeing how they translate 1 Samuel into a contemporary setting each week that I never miss an episode.
Meanwhile, "Life" has barely really begun to get the chance to unravel some of its mysteries. If they end this season on any kind of cliff-hanger, and there's no next season, I'll be left with an itch I can't scratch.
(Speaking of which, I finally watched all of this last season of "Kyle XY" last weekend -- I'd missed the first episode in January, and so saved all the rest on my DVR until they re-ran the entire season on the day the final episode was due, and I could catch the repeat of episode 3.1 -- and was thoroughly enjoying myself, right up until the end of the last episode, when I realized that they'd ended the series by setting up all sorts of fascinating complications and questions which the non-existent season 4 would never get to answer! That really took the shine off of my weekend of couch-potato fun, while waiting to see if the nausea and light-headedness from my new medication would ever wear off.)
And don't even get me started on how annoyed I'd be if they cancelled "Dollhouse" just when I'm finally getting hooked on it, or the utter rottenness of anyone daring to cancel "Chuck", now! And yes, I've yet to catch up with most of this season of "Sarah Connor Chronicles", but I've been saving those for a rainy sick day, and it doesn't mean I'm ready to have that show come to an end, either.
Okay, whiny, self-indulgent, rant over . . . for the moment.

On the plus side, last night's episode of Life could serve as a series ender, if worse came to worst. I don't know if it was the last or not, but there was no "next week" preview.
Kings really is intriguing. Did you hear it's been moved to Saturday? Those greedheads. Grr.
