...that has such generous and creative people in it!
Many thanks to
ros_fod for the wonderful surprise I received this weekend: an upgrade to paid account, so I can enjoy even more of the cool gadgets and gizmos offered by live journalling. What a thoughtful gift from someone I know only as a username with many wonderful words and ideas! That's going above and beyond what I ever expected from this internet community of friends, and I'll try not to abuse it by spouting too much rubbish too often.
Many thanks, also, to
missmurchison for the 'listening...with beer!' icon, and for suggesting, along with
keswindhover, some things I could do (polite things, mind you!) with the new options available to me.
And a very heartfelt "thanks" indeed to
soundingsea for tracking down the Babylon 5 quote that so eluded me last week: "Better the illusions that exalt us than ten thousand truths."
You ladies -- and many others I've come to know as friends and friends of friends on LJ -- seriously 'blow the curve' when it comes to kindness, thoughtfulness, and sheer intelligence.
Finally, I'm in the market for new icons (more than the three I've got so far, all of which were made for me by Miss M -- bless her generous heart), and any recommendations about how or where to find the icon-makers among us would be most welcome.

And his love-life is currently 'hairy',
But his talent for guilt
Over blood that's been spilt
Doesn't stop him from trying to sing "Barry."
[Manilow, that is]
Or, how about . . .
Cary Grant had looks, charm, and humor,
(and Sophia Loren . . . so says rumor!).
But with a forehead so smooth,
and no fang to his tooth . . .
Maybe he was just a late-bloomer?
Too tired to make even bad rhymes tonight, I guess. If you come up with any limerick ideas, let me know, though!

His vamp dad he just couldn't honor.
But his dad made a deal,
The kid's memories to heal,
And now poor Fred is a goner.
Okay, that's MUCH too depressing. How about this one?
Angel's passion for Spike is so grievous
That he simply cannot deceive us,
Though the mocking and jibes
Try to hide sexual vibes,
We know this ain't 'Butthead and Beavis'!
A little better. I'll keep working on it!

In other words, I'm so terribly easy that I really ought to be ashamed of myself!
