"Six women enter! Four women leave!"

I just found out this afternoon that I will NOT have my job eliminated at this time. Yay for keeping my health insurance . . . at least until the next round of lay-offs!

Of course, they're going to wait until Monday to tell us how our remaining jobs will be reorganized and restructured to pick up the slack from the two people who've gone.

I could end up transferred to a different floor (away from the co-workers I know and like, and the windows we enjoy here on the top floor), or assigned to tasks that have not the slightest interest for me.

But them's the breaks.

Glad to hear you had good news.

Thanks!

And I didn't even have to use a chainsaw on any of my co-workers in order to survive . . . so, that's a plus!

I'm so relieved for you. But I'm sorry you had to go through all that stress.

Congrats! And good luck for next time too. Remember, Master is the midget riding on Blaster. I don't know if that'll be helpful, but it's all I remember from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. That and the pigs' methane powers the city...

Thanks for the tips! A co-worker suggested that climbing straight to the top of the dome right off is a winning strategy, allowing some of the other 'players' to eliminate one another while you save your strength and wait for the right moment to jump in, wielding a chain-saw!

I'm glad for your continued employment, but very sorry for the extra duties. I'm afraid I know all about that. Our department is lucky enough to be dwindling due to retirements rather than lay offs, but the result for the rest of us is the same.

I'm sorry to hear you're in the same boat, but -- as you say -- it's kind of nice to have employment, anyway, with the economy the way it is right now. We shall "endeavor to persevere"! [quote from "The Outlaw Josey Wales," probably my favorite Clint Eastwood western . . . at least as far as quotable dialogue is concerned!]
