Yes, I worked with the weights (still wimpy-wimpy-wimpy amounts -- at least, when compared to the apparently very tall guys who seem to have been the last ones to use the machines before me!).
And then I did a half-hour on the stationary bike (a little over 6 kilometers -- at least, I assume it was measuring kilometers -- at what felt to my badly out-of-shape leg and abdominal muscles like a pretty brisk pace).
I decided to save the cross-country skiiing and another try on the treadmills for tomorrow night, when -- according to my mother -- I shouldn't do resistance-training again, but rather focus on endurance and let my wimpy-wimpy-wimpy muscles have a chance to recover for Wednesday night.
And yes, I'm fully aware of the irony that my 74-year-old mother is probably in much better shape (at least in terms of cardio and endurance) than I am, since she and dad have been doing low-impact fitness classes at the YMCA most weekday mornings for years, and now go down to the fitness center at their senior apartment complex everyday without even having to set foot outside.
I guess mother still knows best!
