In case there's anyone on my f-list who was as surprised as I was to find that SyFy actually had a good, character-driven, addictive new show in "Haven" but who hasn't yet signed a petition asking for a second season, here's the link: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/season2ofhaven/
I signed that petition and left what I hope was an eloquent comment to go with my name and email address, but I admit I didn't leave a donation to support that petition website afterwards, since I was put off by their rather heavy-handed approach to demanding my financial backing.
Finding out where Audrey and Nathan and Duke end up and how they get there has quickly become a high priority for my Friday night viewing and my Saturday or Sunday re-watching (sometimes several times) of each new episode of "Haven", and I hate the thought of all that potential left unfulfilled.
Just those few scenes in recent episodes of Nathan reacting to the feeling of Audrey's casual touch would've justified sticking with this series, so rich and deep were they in their own understated but passionate way, but when you add in all the rest . . . ? Well, it's darn near irresistible to me.

Thanks for posting the online petition link; I used it, though, like you, I didn't leave any $$.

And there are some characters that I could maybe do without. I kinda love the elderly brothers who are experts on women's fashion and keep up that brotherly bickering. But "the Chief" (Nathan's dad) seems like a pain in the butt most of the time and not much of an asset to anyone on the show, so I don't miss him when he's not around. Still, I suppose he helps to explain some of Nathan's reserve.
It took me a while to tune into the low-key intensity that lies just below Nathan's semi-impassive public face, but now that he's emoting more and Duke is being more serious, I'm liking the vibe off the threesome they make with Audrey. And having the new doctor be a younger woman who -- unlike her mother -- doesn't much like the town she grew up in, or at least doesn't like the weirdness that goes with it, does have the potential to make a neat quartet of young 'outsiders' in one sense or another, ready to stir things up.
