Not really all that surprising, since I've lived for extended periods in Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Tennessee, but apparently I'm middle-of-the-road, plain vanilla 'American' in my accent:

What American accent do you have?

Neutral. Not Northern, Southern, or Western, just American. Your national American identity is more important to you than your local identity, because you don't really have a local identity to begin with.

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

That's what I got, too! But most people in Oregon sound like me.

I got Western. Which is weird because I was born in Michigan (and they said I was not from Detroit) and raised in Florida (and they said I'm not from the deep south).

I find this quiz amusing and possibly highly inaccurate.

I came up Western, which probably isn't that surprising since I'm from California and live in Idaho.

Is it too early to wish you a happy birthday tomorrow? Hope you have a great day.
