At last, a non-sucky made-for-SyFy movie on Saturday night!

I'm just watching the end of "End of the World", which I recorded off of the SyFy Channel last night, and I have to say it may be my favorite, least-sucky, most genuinely amusing made-for-SyFy movie in a long, long time (and certainly the least sucky world-ending disaster movie they've ever attempted)! :)

It's like a walk down memory lane of all my favorite SF films from the 1970s on (even quoting from "The Last Starfighter", which I thought no-one remembered but me!), with a dash of the spirit of "Galaxy Quest" and strong overtones of Sheldon Cooper's apocalypse-survival preparations on "The Big Bang Theory".

I have been enjoying it. I did record, as I thought, and the absolutely blatant way they use previous movies is hilarious.

One thing you can be sure of with a made-for-SyFy movie is that, sooner or later, it'll be back! Do try to catch it in repeats sometime, if you get the chance. It's worth the effort, I think (especially if you tape it and can fast-forward to the fanboy conversations, if you've a mind to).
