Yeah, NOBODY messes with Marshal Stacker Pentecost, with his command presence AND ability to go to the mat when it counts most. Plus, how interesting is it that he's named for a religious festival and gets to say lines like, "Today, we are canceling the Apocalypse!"?

And now that I've finally seen the movie, I've been getting a kick out of reading all the "Pacific Rim" fanfic, especially [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup's BtVS/PR crossover collection, Canceling the Apocalypse (http://www.tthfanfic.org/Story-29413/jedibuttercup+Canceling+the+Apocalypse.htm), which has Marshal Pentecost as the last, kick-ass scion of an old Watcher family and Buffy and Faith as co-pilots of a specially constructed Slayer Jaeger. :)

Pacific Rim has generated a great deal of fanfic, hasn't it.

"Today, we are canceling the Apocalypse!" has to be one of the greatest lines. His St. Crispin's Day speech was short, to the point and thoroughly enjoyable.
