revdorothyl: missmurchsion made this (Moving Nausicaa)

So excited I can hardly stand it, and what really gets me is that it took me so long to ask Amazon.com the right question. I could have had a new P.M. Griffin Star Commandos novel to read a year and a half ago! Arrgh!

For those who may be wondering at my strange and disjointed jabbering, I just went to the Amazon website to check on the progress of the Hayao Miyazaki DVD's I'd ordered earlier this year (they're still on order, by the way -- apparently the expected Aug. 31 release date for Nausicaa and Porco Rosso was a tad overly optimistic on someone's part), and on a whim I finally got around to doing a search for books by P. M. (Pauline) Griffin, one of my favorite SF adventure-romance authors to re-re-re-read on an annual basis. I used to check regularly, but there was never anything new out it seemed, so a couple of years ago I stopped asking and thought I had to content myself with the Andre Norton collaborations (a couple of Witch World stories, a Solar Queen adventure, and a rousing good Time Traders yarn), the occasional short story in Catfantastic, and the annually re-read Star Commandos novels already in my possession (Star Commandos, Colony in Peril, Mission Underground, Death Planet, Return to War, Mind Slaver, Fire Planet, Jungle Assault, Call to Arms -- not exactly in order, but close enough). But wait! There's more! Apparently the tenth and eleventh Star Commandos novels were published last year, and I wasn't informed. Not only that, but there's a twelfth novel published this year and actually available without an extended wait.

I am such a happy camper! With new P. M. Griffin novels to look forward to, I can stare down the most daunting pile of undergraduate midterm exams waiting to be graded over the next two days, and I can laugh at the threat posed by my looming dissertation deadlines.

I feel like Cordelia doing the "new clothes" dance at the end of "Disharmony" -- "La-la-la! I have new novels! Hee!"
