On the Road Again . . .

I'd just gotten my dad into his physical therapy appointment this morning, when Brother called me on Dad's cell phone, to say that his reading of the weather channel indicated that I'd be stuck here until Thursday unless I left for Nashville right about now.

Something about freezing rain settling over the greater Chicago area, or something like that.

So, I'm off to Nashville as soon as I can pack my stuff and load the substitute car my parents are loaning me.

Keep your fingers crossed, please, that this time I'll make it all the way without incident!

Be careful! The conditions aren't great in the Iowa area, so it's probably good you're avoiding us.

Will do, but promise on the other hand, that if the driving is so bad, you'll stop before an accident (off of both the road and breakdown lane), rather than after.

No worries -- I'm hoping to avoid any more accidents for another 20 years, at least (which is how long it's been since I was last in a major collision of any kind). Thanks!
