I'm "stealing" a few minutes to post, since my class ended early (I had the students present on their papers in their small groups, and that took all of two minutes each, apparently) and I'd told my mother and sister that I'd be home at 8:30 PM.
Mom and Sis arrived in town Tuesday night and checked into a motel room while I was teaching, and then they checked out of their motel yesterday morning and came over to my apartment with their cleaning clothes on, and by mid-morning they'd already made enough progress in reducing the filth and clutter of my living quarters that we could "play hookey" and spend the next six hours driving to and hiking around Burgess Falls and Fall Creek Falls state parks, to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather.
They're staying with me until they go back to Wisconsin on Saturday, in order to save on motel costs and have more quality togetherness time, and so far it's working out okay. And by now my apartment can actually be walked through without a treasure map or danger of encountering strange new lifeforms! Wonder of wonders!

Still, I can now walk across my floors and eat in my kitchen without fear of contracting something, so I'm very grateful for all their help!
