So far, so good . . .

So far, 44 doesn't feel any different than 43 did . . . but my birthday isn't over yet, so that may change!

Best card received so far: from Mom, telling me to "Have a 'cat' kind of birthday . . . Do anything you damn well please!" Words to live by, especially in our 40's, I should think!

Indulgence accomplished -- I didn't have the energy to bake when I got home Wednesday night, so I just ate chocolate frosting directly out of the can! (Why waste time on a "frosting delivery system" -- Alton Brown's term for "cake" -- when I can go direct to the source?)

Happy birthday! You & I get to be the same age now, until my birthday next August. 44 has been pretty good to me so far. There's something cool about ages that are divisible by 11...
