My mom has recommended this to me as well, but she didn't make the Buffy comparison. It does sound really interesting and informative, but I welcome the glad news that it is entertaining as well.

It is VERY entertaining, in spite of the sometimes grim subject matter of global warming (Al Gore and/or the film-makers seem to go to some lengths to make sure that this is not a "downer," so there is much leavening and lightening throughout). They also do a good job of making it clear that this isn't a political issue (in the sense that your party could have anything to do with whether you're 'for it' or 'against it'), but rather a MORAL issue, about what kind of world are parents are leaving to us or we are leaving to our children. Will this "good earth" seen by the Apollo astronauts on Christmas Eve 1968 continue to be able to sustain human life 50 years from now? When you're talking about stuff like that, you've GOT to be very witty, or people will walk out from sheer funk.
