Admittedly, I don't see many movies, but I did go see "Hollywoodland" last week, before my life started to get totally filled up and crazy, between teaching three classes (for which I'd given way too many writing assignments, I'm now thinking), working part-time at the publishing house again, and preaching last weekend.

I'd seen most of the 'facts' and 'theories' about George Reeves' death presented previously, in some A&E or other cable show, but I thought the cast did a great job of making Reeves and his era come alive. Made me remember what a big crush I had on Reeves' Superman when I was a very young kid and watching the ever-syndicated re-runs. It was his brains that I admired, you know, and that voice, since his face and form weren't the type I generally admire.

I'd recommend it warmly as a very decent and interesting movie, but not for anyone who's hoping for the 'definitive' answer to who slew George Reeves. Good work from Affleck, though.

I'm looking forward to this movie. Who killed him and why is a mystery we'll probably never have the answer to, but I don't consider myself a conspiracy theory nut when I say the suicide theory never flew.

There was just something about him, wasn't there? I loved those reruns as well.

Many good wishes and hugs on your packed schedule. Come up for air and let us know how you're doing when you can.

Thanks! Will do!

(My own mother's been trying to call me all week, it turns out, but I've never been home and don't turn on my cellphone unless I need to make a call, so I had to make an APPOINTMENT to call her back between my classes this afternoon. Come to think of it, that's what I should be doing right now!)

Hope you're doing well these days?
