"The Holiday" is great fun

Just a quick note to say that "The Holiday", which I saw with my sister this past week, is much better than I'd been led to believe.

Maybe the film won't appeal to guys, but for women, it's a LOVELY treat, full of nice touches and charming moments. Great wish-fulfillment in the scenarios and content, and I finally get why Jude Law is considered so incredibly attractive. I didn't even find Cameron Diaz too terribly annoying, after the first few scenes, and that's really saying something!

See this film, if you're female and get the chance. I don't think you'll be sorry!

Happy New Year! I hope you had a good holiday. And my friend K was busy telling me this afternoon how crap 'The Holiday' was, and how the time spent watchign it was several hours of her life that she wanted back - so clearly reviews vary!

I'm sorry she didn't enjoy it, but my sister and I thought it was a lovely feast of "comfort food", improbable as the situations seemed at times. I guess it depends on what you went looking for and what kind of mood you're in, whether you find it annoying or delightful.

And yes, thanks, I'm having a wonderful holiday here at my folks' house. My mom and I just went out for a brisk walk along the river bank, since it's finally SUNNY today, and I've been spending lots of time with my sister and father, watching DVD's (including the first 12 episodes of the HBO series "Rome", which was thoroughly enjoyable)!

I walked by the river today too. It tired me out a bit, since I have a cold, but still nice.

Then I went to my friend's house and annoyed her cats for half an hour. Good times.
