I'm glad you were able to get away for a while. We didn't do ICON this year, because #2 wanted to go to AnimeIowa with some friends instead. I wish you did have time to stop by!

I talked with several people in AnimeIowa who were planning their convention. I can imagine how interested #2 would be in that! It was a good DemiCon, in spite of the change in dates which seemed to mean that half the usual hucksters were missing. I'm tempted to look up some Catherine Asaro (the author GOH) books in the library, because though I'd never heard of her before, I was intrigued by the things she said about her own work and that of others like LMB when I went to hear her speak at a panel on Strong-Willed women in Hard SF and Romance. Plus, I got a talking, mobile mini-Dalek AND saw a 3rd-season Dr. Who episode, "Gridlock" (brilliant!). So, I'm pretty well satisfied!
