I finally made time to see "The Visitor" yesterday, and I was not disappointed in the quality of the major performances, or in the refusal of this film to take any easy ways out of dealing with the plight of illegal immigrants and those who care about them in the U.S. today.
See this film if you get the chance, but stash a kleenex or two in your pocket, because there's a good chance you'll cry before it's over.
On a separate note, I just learned from a work colleague that I should've stayed until the very end of the "Iron Man" credits, for an extra bit of the movie. I hate it when that happens (and I don't know about it ahead of time, or I don't get warned by my fellow movie-goers, as I was in my first viewing of "X-Men 3").
Oh well, . . . I guess I have no choice but to go see "Iron Man" again sometime. Shucky-darn! As Wash said when Zoe dragged him off to their quarters to tear off all her clothes at the end of the "Firefly" pilot, "Work, work, work!"
