This was extremely cogent and thoughtful. Since I have ZERO intention of seeing the movie, but am curious about it - admittedly from a pogrom-alert perspective - I prefer to read prose and opinion which goes out of its way to illumine, not inflame.

I'm tempted to respond in an inflammatory manner, but I'll resist: NO! If I were calling you a flaming asshole, you would be in no doubt about it, my dear . . . because I would have called you a flaming asshole. I mean only, of course, to say that I'm sure you have 'hot buns' (not 'hot cross buns', though, because we don't want to be sectarian, here). Hot buns and a hot head, I'm sure, but we all love you anyway. So there!
