rewrites of my dissertation proposal that I said I would have to show my advisor by this Friday.

Ahem.

I am on my third glass of port, but this phrase leapt out at me from your post.

Consider yourself nagged for the day. I will be back tomorrow.

I'm meeting with my advisor this Friday at 4 PM. Between you, Kes (who's already nagged me once today in your honor), and my sister, I'm sure I'll have something to show him. Thanks for being such a caring and occasionally scary friend!
