Just a quick note, because my class starts soon, but I wanted to register a marginally favorable response to the premiere of Marti Noxon's new gig, "Point Pleasant" last night. (No actual plot spoilers contained below, as far as I can tell.)
Admittedly, the main attraction for me was the chance to see a bunch of veterans of other sci-fi series: 1) Richard Burgi (The Sentinel -- hubba, hubba!) as the kindly doctor, 2) James Morrison (the too-sexy-for-his-own-good "in vitro" colonel from Space: Above and Beyond, and a scary guest star on a couple of episodes of Prey) as the all-too-briefly-guest-starring foster dad for the devil's daughter, 3) Dina Meyer (the ex-Batgirl from Birds of Prey and a Romulan in the last and least-loved ST:TNG movie) as the town slut and mother of the budding town slut, and 4) even Michael Cavanaugh (the alien-hunting government heavy who chased Robert Hays and son each week on the series Starman) VERY briefly guesting as DevilDaughter's Mr. French.
I have a hard time telling any of the younger generation apart, but Richard Burgi and the good-and-evil-battling-it-out theme are reason enough for me to have set my VCR to tape the second episode this evening. I just hope that one doesn't turn out to be quite such a sucky Peyton-Place-athon as the previews suggested.
Oh well. Hope springs eternal!

As for "Battlestar Galactica", we got the first two episodes ("33" and "Water") last Friday, and we're due to see the third episode with Richard Hatch (the Apollo of 26 years ago) guest-starring tonight.
I was very impressed by the first two episodes (which had me sharing so much of the characters' anxiety and edginess that I had trouble going to sleep afterward), and am looking forward to watching the rest of them.
A friend of mine in Boston, who's never home in the evenings and so has been downloading "BG" episodes from the Internet to watch (and didn't realize that none of those episodes had started to air in the U.S. yet), has viewed up through episode 10, he says, and he speaks very highly of it.
I assume you've also seen at least that many episodes? Do you concur that it just keeps getting more intriguing as it goes along?

I must admit that I never started watching it, despite all my plans. But I just saw the last two episodes of the series, and I'm kicking myself, because they were really great.
I have the miniseries on video, and will see it very soon.
