As it happens, I only thought I'd set my VCR to tape the second episode of "Point Pleasant" while I was at school last night. So, maybe that's Somebody's way of telling me I shouldn't waste my time on it.

As for "Battlestar Galactica", we got the first two episodes ("33" and "Water") last Friday, and we're due to see the third episode with Richard Hatch (the Apollo of 26 years ago) guest-starring tonight.

I was very impressed by the first two episodes (which had me sharing so much of the characters' anxiety and edginess that I had trouble going to sleep afterward), and am looking forward to watching the rest of them.

A friend of mine in Boston, who's never home in the evenings and so has been downloading "BG" episodes from the Internet to watch (and didn't realize that none of those episodes had started to air in the U.S. yet), has viewed up through episode 10, he says, and he speaks very highly of it.

I assume you've also seen at least that many episodes? Do you concur that it just keeps getting more intriguing as it goes along?

I must admit that I never started watching it, despite all my plans. But I just saw the last two episodes of the series, and I'm kicking myself, because they were really great.

I have the miniseries on video, and will see it very soon.
